2015 In Review: Best Photos

2015 In Review: Best Photos

Hey, friends! I’m excited to tell you all about my photos from 2015! I decided to pick my favorite picture from each month, and just tell some stories behind them.

I love the glittering snow and pretty trees in this picture! It turned out nice, even though I took it through a window. πŸ™‚

Aww, look at his smile! Elijah was seven months old at this photo’s taking. I love his chunkiness and adorable faces.

I like this photo of Abbie a lot! She’s blowing a bubble, but one bubble is already coming towards the camera. And yes, we were blowing bubbles inside. πŸ˜›

aprilThis one still makes me sigh when I see it. I love the colors, love the sharpness and detail of the flower, love the background blur…I just love everything about it! This definitely goes in my top three favorite pics from 2015! I like this photo, also, because it symbolizes spring for me. This particular flower was one of the first to bloom, reminding me that though winter had killed a lot of life, things could grow again.

So. This month was really hard to pick out, because I did a 31-day photography challenge for it, giving me now 31 really neat pics to choose from. May is also my favorite month to take photos in, making things extra hard! *insert pained emoji* But, I narrowed it down to this:

mayI chose this because I LOVE IT and because it won me best of show in my town’s fair, so I’m a bit biased. πŸ™‚ An honorable mention goes to the following, though:

I’d have to say this piece of beauty. Ahhh I can smell them now! I know I’ve said this a lot on this blog, but wild roses smell so good.

Isn’t this one fun? It was (and still is) my only attempt at taking sparkler pictures. I’m pleased with how this one turned out, only my brother drew the star more than once, causing a bit of an optical illusion there. πŸ™‚ But there’s always next July. Be on the lookout!

I started a ten-week photography challenge with my friend, Lauren, in this month, so I once again had a lot of nice pics to choose from! I narrowed it down to one and an honorable mention.

augustThis photo took a lot of work, so I’m very, very glad I got good results from it. I know, I know, it looks effortless, but see the background? How the trees are pointing up, so the camera must’ve been pointing straight up? That’s because I put the camera on my knees, with a manual focus point and a self timer, while trying to get my hands to look like a heart, not like they were diseased. And look what, after many failures, I got! I love it. πŸ˜‰ An honorable mention does go to:

Confession time: this photo was *hem* edited to look nice. There used to be a tree and some sort of pole on the far left side, and so, using the clone tool in Gimp, I got rid of it. *sighs* Just thought I’d come clean with that one πŸ˜‰ But I was pleased enough with the original to take the time to edit it, so that must mean something.

I don’t have a ton of pictures from September, but I still love this one. The perfect pink of his mouth combined with the perfect blue of his eyes have me smiling and going awwww.

I’d have to say this one of Miss Anna, simply because the coloring really makes me happy, as well as the details. πŸ™‚

This one was really hard to pick! I know I took a lot of photos in November, and a lot of them were good, but as far as what pleases me the most from this month, I’d have to say this super pretty picture of a droplet on a thorn branch, still green (though now it’s dead!).

IMG_8752~2This month was hard to choose from, but I decided on another picture I had taken one frosty morning. I love the blue sky and sunlight of this photo, along with the composition of the frosted-over goldenrod plants. πŸ™‚

I can’t wait to take more pictures in 2016! Have a great day!
