Whew! It has been a crazy month, guys, and I’m checking in to say I’m alive and well and trying desperately to keep up with my busy life.

Most of my busyness has come from school, track practice (yup, our amazing cross-country team is having an “experimental” track team this year), Bible study, church, and other stuff. My grandmother has been living with us five days a week while she starts getting ready to sell her house and eventually move in with us. Her being here has been a really big help, and I love having her wisdom and advice here basically 24/7. I’m almost one-third through my Geometry book in math which is making me very happy, and lately I’ve been writing a little more, both for school and for pleasure. With the cold winter setting in here, I’m not getting out of the house a ton, so getting blog posts online has been hard, even though I have about a dozen I want to publish!

My photography hasn’t been very exciting lately, haha. I tried to take some photos at my brothers’ basketball game the other day and remembered how awful I am at sports photography. Why do I have to completely butcher the super cool aspects of photography, like food and sports? Strengths and weaknesses, I guess.

Speaking of strengths and weaknesses, my friend Lauren once claimed she wasn’t very good at portrait photography, but I will have to beg to differ! Last Saturday, I got to get together with her to do some photo editing (exactly how you’d like spend a Saturday morning, right? Lol but we found it enjoyable.) and relaxing. After we were done with the photo editing, she took some shots of me (actually 129 lol) on her new DSLR. Guys, they turned out gorgeous. I was bracing myself because I usually don’t like pictures of myself – at all – and even if the photos were amazing from a photographer’s perspective (which I knew they would be), they might be ugly from my perspective because of, um, my face. Lol. But Lauren proved me wrong and I really like how things turned out. Here’s a few snaps:

Lauren is hilarious and made me laugh lots. :)

It was SUPER cold and my scarf served well for burrowing. :)

More to possibly come! Thanks, Laur – I love you!

I know it’s not much of a post, but more are coming! In the next couple weeks I’m going to try and post a little more, but no promises. πŸ™‚ Life comes before blogging, that’s my motto lol. Have a good week!
